Overview History Land Main Temple Stupa Vajra Temple

The Land
Odiyan sits high up on a hill about 3 miles from the Pacific Ocean amidst the redwoods
of Northern California. Over 125 acres of land have been cultivated as orchards, gardens,
parks, and plazas. Hundreds of thousands of trees and plants have been planted with
more being added regularly.

More than 1,000 traditional Tibetan prayer wheels turn day and night, activating sacred
mantras. Hundreds of prayer flags, huge and colorful, dance in the persistent ocean breeze.
Beautiful sunsets over the Pacific Ocean are a regular delight.

Cherishing beauty is the secret key to opening the heart, and once the heart opens, compassion and caring flow forth naturally. Thus, the world of nature has a crucial role to play in the development of the human values of compassion, love, and kindness.
