The heavy construction work at Odiyan includes many diverse projects. These projects are constantly changing and the goals are time-sensitive.
Both skilled and unskilled volunteers are challenged to expand their limitations and fields of knowledge. Challenges continually arise in bringing the unique designs to completion, providing many opportunities for personal and professional growth.
Many professionals looking to share knowledge and contribute trade skills towards the benefit of these sacred preservation projects have volunteered for 6-month stays at Odiyan including electricians, mechanics, foundry professionals, plumbers, lighting technicians, engineers, blacksmiths, seamstresses and chefs, among others.
The mix of volunteers with professional skills and those without any skills makes a melting-pot of learning and sharing.
